Louisville -- Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge in encouraging everyone in District 3 to get involved in the Brightside Community Cleanup this Saturday, April 13th as part of the Mayor’s Give – A – Day of Service.
She has high praise for the Southern Star Missionary Baptist Church and the Hallmark Neighborhood Association two groups who continue to answer the call to serve the community.
“I am excited that Southern Star Missionary Baptist Church will have 100 volunteers to clean alleys and streets in the Algonquin area,” says Woolridge. “The Hallmark Neighborhood Association consistently helps with District 3 clean-ups.”
The Councilwoman says many other groups in District 3 will be out cleaning up and she hopes others will jump on board because it is not too late to help out.
“We are fortunate to have many people who want to help keep our community clean,” says Woolridge. “These volunteers set a great example for others in showing pride in our community.”
All over Metro Louisville, groups will take a project and follow the Mayor’s goal of giving back to the community.
“I am also encouraging anyone who has some free time this Saturday to meet us at Southern Star Missionary Baptist Church, 2304 Algonquin Parkway at 9:30 A.M. for a light breakfast and to get their tee shirt and supplies. You can help either of these groups or to do a separate cleanup in District 3,” says Woolridge.
If you would like to volunteer or sign up a group then go the Brightside web page at http://www.louisvilleky.gov/brightside/Sponsor:
