It is the office which provides legal advice to Metro Government. It also prosecutes those who break the law in Jefferson County. It handles everything from child support to criminal offenses.
Councilman Rick Blackwell has invited the man who runs this important office, Jefferson County Attorney Mike O’Connell, to be the featured guest for June’s District 12 Dialogue on Tuesday, June 15th.
“The County Attorney’s Office plays a major role in the legal and judicial side of local government and it is important to understand all the office handles in local government,” says Blackwell. “I want to thank Mike O’Connell for coming out to be with us and answer questions about the office.”
The June District 12 Dialogue will take place at Conway Middle School, 6300 Terry Road beginning at 7:00pm.
Representatives of Louisville Metro Police, Neighborhoods, MSD and Codes and Regulations will also be on hand to answer questions. In addition, a representative of Congressman John Yarmuth’s office will be in attendance.
“While our goal is to bring Metro Government to the District, I hope everyone will take advantage of this opportunity to not only learn more about the County Attorney’s office but to share ideas and suggestions for our area,” says Blackwell.
