With the help of Louisville Urban League Young Professionals (LULYP) and the Young Professionals Association of Louisville (YPAL), Councilman David Tandy (D) 4 announces a community-wide clean up for the Smoketown neighborhood on Saturday, June 7th.
“I am happy to be joined by the LULYP and the YPALouisville in this effort,” says Tandy. “These are two groups that see the need for being an active part of this community.”
Volunteers for the cleanup will gather at the Presbyterian Community Center, 701 South Hancock Street beginning at 9:30am. The volunteers will be partnered up with teams coordinated by Brightside and then move through out the Smoketown community.
At 12:00pm, Tandy and the young professionals will host a barbeque celebration at the Center.
“I want to invite the community to come out and join us,” says Tandy. “This is a way to show we care about our neighborhood and it is a chance to meet some of the young people who have a keen interest in the future of out city.”
