In an effort to replenish agency resources and help victims of the recent storm damage, Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge (D-3) has given $9,500 to local agencies.

This funding was a part of the September 25th Metro Council Emergency Storm Ordinance.

The Community Action Partnership (CAP) was given $1,000 and Shively Area Ministries received $1,500 from Woolridge. Both agencies continue to provide food and other needs to the thousands of people hurt by the storm all over Metro Louisville.

“Both CAP and Shively Area Ministries serve those in need all year long. Their efforts related to the storm is what they always do, but on a larger scale in a short time period,” says Woolrdige. “They must restock and have funds to keep providing their normal services.”

Metro Housing Resources Center will also see $7,000 in aid to help District 3 home owners thanks to Woolridge’s efforts. The money is designated to help with tree issues resulting from the storm through a grant program to occupant homeowners.

“People are anxious to get their property back in order and return to their normal routine. These assistance measures will help them deal with the financial strain of the storm and hopefully put the damage behind them,” says Woolridge.

Applicants should call Metro Housing Recourses Center at 778-6664 if more information is needed. The Center is located at 2810 Dumesnil, Louisville, Kentucky.
