Louisville – Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) is praising the efforts of several local lawn service companies who volunteered their time and work crews to address some of the worst abandoned properties in the “Cut it Out!” program for June.
“Our communities begin to change when everyone gets involved to make where we live a better place,” says Scott. “I commend the companies who joined me during the month of June to take care of some of the worst and tallest grass anyone could find in a neighborhood.”
The “Cut it Out!” Program will wrap up the month of June this Saturday, June 30th starting at a vacant lot located at 3511 Hale Avenue beginning at 9:00am. Earth Bound will bring a tractor with bush hog to mow empty properties that have no structures on the property.
Of the 154 worst properties listed in District 1 by Codes & Regulation as of the end of May 2012, over 55 vacant properties have been cut by private lawn care companies and their crews. Some of these properties have been on the city codes and regulations list in need of cutting for over 10 years.
The companies that answered Scott’s call for help in District 1include:
· Earth Bound Lawn Care
· Total Care Lawn Service
· Dulin’s Lawn Care Service
· KLB, Inc.
· Neat Lee Done
· Franklin Landscape
· David Redd, Contractor
· Tom Taylor Lawn Service
“Some companies have volunteered to continue to help in “Cut It Out1” as their schedule permits,” says Scott. “I appreciate their willingness to be our partner in restoring pride and unity in our community.”
