Louisville, KY - Louisville Metro Councilman James Peden (District 23) and the Louisville Metro Police Department’s 7th Division have partnered with the Highview Fire Department, local Boy Scouts, and Police and Fire Explorers to conduct a crime and fire prevention awareness “Walk and Talk” in the Whispering Hills Neighborhood. The “Walk and Talk” will take place on Tuesday, July 10 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The group plans to canvass the neighborhood and meet with residents while passing out crime prevention materials and answering any questions or addressing concerns residents may have for the Police, Fire or Metro Council.
“I’ve learned that most fires and many crimes are preventable if only people are equipped with some basic knowledge and I realize how important it is to educate people about fire prevention and safety. This walk will provide residents with an opportunity to speak directly with a member of the Metro Police and Highview Fire Departments not only to get some valuable advice, but to have the opportunity to address any questions or concerns they may have.”
