Once again, District 9 is looking for volunteers to come out and get Frankfort Avenue ready for the upcoming holiday season.
“Twice a year, I am always pleased that we have dedicated residents who want to roll up their sleeves and help us make the District a nicer place to live,” says Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9).
The Frankfort Avenue Cleanup will get underway on Saturday, October 25th from 8:00am to 12:00pm. Volunteers should meet at the Keats Parking Lot adjacent to the Irish Rover located at 2319 Frankfort Avenue. The cleanup is in preparation for the “Olde Tyme Christmas” on Frankfort Avenue in December.
“Metro Government has spent the last several weeks removing storm debris after the September 14th wind storms,” says Ward-Pugh. “We have seen many in this community helping one another with cleanups and it just goes to show the spirit of many people in our neighborhoods.”
On cleanup day, gloves, tools and bags will be provided for all volunteers by Brightside. It is recommended that volunteers wear sturdy shoes. Coffee will be provided by Heine Brothers. Breakfast bars will be provided by the District 9 office.
