Washington DC – Metro Councilman Dan Johnson (D-21) will continue to serve on the National League of Cities 2013 Transportation Infrastructure and Services Steering Committee after being selected for a fifth year as a member.
“As a member of this committee, I look forward to continuing the work of this committee because rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure is still a top priority for many of our American cities,” said Johnson. “As the economy slowly continues to improve, we must advocate for improvements. It’s a top priority for this committee.”
The Transportation Infrastructure & Services (TIS) Committee is the voice of cities and towns for all policy on transportation issues, including planning, funding, safety and security of public transit, streets and highways, aviation, railroads and ports.
‘This is also an opportunity to keep in close contact with our Congressional Delegation and let Washington leaders know what our cities need in looking to the future,” said Johnson.
The Transportation and Infrastructure Services Committee will meet in March to begin planning for the coming year.
