Louisville – For 28 years it has been a traditional event by those who want to help children in Southwest Jefferson County.
On Sunday, June 25th 2006, the Vietnam Vet’s Concert in the Park will get underway at Sun Valley Park in Valley Station.
“This is such a great event for our area,” says Councilman Bob Henderson (D) 14. “I would like for everyone to come out and support this effort.”
The Concert in the Park will be held from 12pm to 6pm. Sun Valley Park is located at 6505 Bethany Lane.
There will be seven live bands on hand as well as free hot dogs and sodas.
The event also has a car and motorcycle show. There is a $15 fee to register for the show. The money from registration goes to help a special group of people.
“The Vietnam Vet’s raise money for their Christmas Program,” says Henderson. “They buy presents for needy children in Southwest Jefferson County.”
For more information about the car and motorcycle show call Edd Fisher at 935-2103.
“This event will be fun for everyone but it is also a good way to say thank you to a group of people who have not only served our country but who are also helping our community,” says Henderson.
