METCO Approves Two Loans to Small Businesses

Two loans in the amount of $160,000 were approved by the Louisville Metropolitan Business Development Corporation. These loans will leverage $860,000 in total investment.

· $80,000 loan to H&R Haymarket, located at 2124 West Market. The loan will allow owners Raid Hassouneh and Josh Balata to open a new grocery store, which will support the goal of the Healthy in a Hurry stores, offering fresh fruits and vegetables. This project will create eight new jobs.

· $80,000 loan to Saucy’s LLC d/b/a, located at 1106 Lyndon Lane. The loan will allow owners William and Sandra Piepmeyer to open a new full-service, chocolate-themed restaurant that will serve lunch and dinner at Westport Village. The project will create 28 new jobs.
