Like many places, Frankfort Avenue residents and businesses take pride in having a unique community. Twice a year, volunteers roll up their sleeves to make our neighborhoods clean and safe for everyone to enjoy.
“I know there are many who are ready to shake off the cold of winter and get out and welcome spring,” said Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9). “That’s why I am calling on everyone to come out for the Ninth District Spring Brightside Cleanup.”
Volunteers will gather at the Crescent Hill Library, 2762 Frankfort Avenue on Saturday, March 28th from 8:30am to 12:00pm. Working with Brightside, the Ninth District office will provide gloves, bags, tools and water for all volunteers.
For those who come early, there will be bagels provided by Nancy’s Bagel Grounds and coffee from Heine Brothers’ Coffee.
“This is an important clean up because we will also be getting ready for another tradition, the Frankfort Avenue Easter parade on April 11th,” said Ward-Pugh. “I have always been pleased with the turnout of volunteers for our Brightside Cleanups and I am sure this year will be no different.”
