Residents of District 1 who have spent the last ten days cleaning up their property will have a chance to have debris picked up through the efforts of Councilwoman Judith Green.
“I know many people are dealing with some tough economic hardship because of the flooding,” say Green. “Hopefully, this curbside pickup will help some people who just cannot make it to a drop off site.”
The curbside pickup for the heavily flood areas of District 1 will take place this Saturday, August 15th and Sunday, August 16th. Flood debris items that need to be removed should be placed at the curb in front of the home or in an alley near the home before 7:00am each of those days. The pickup times will be 8:00am until 8:00pm on Saturday. The 8:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday.
“It is important for everyone to realize, this is a onetime only pickup,” says Green. “We will not be going back to check on house that may have been missed the first time around.”
Councilwoman Green is working with Echo Tech Environmental Services and volunteer services of residents of the Dismas House at the St. Ann’s Center at 1515 Algonquin Parkway.
