Public Health and Wellness to Offer Free Yoga at the Center for Health Equity
Thursday November 6, 2008
The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness will offer free yoga classes every Thursday (except Thanksgiving) from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. November 13 to December 18 at the Center for Health Equity located at 2422 W. Chestnut Street. Classes are open to the general public and to those of all ability levels.
Classes will be conducted by instructors from Yoga East through a Mayor’s Healthy Hometown Movement mini-grant.
Public Health and Wellness Director, Dr. Adewale Troutman said, “We are delighted to be working with Yoga East on this project. The Mayor’s Healthy Hometown Movement and the Center for Health Equity are bringing the benefits of yoga to people for whom those benefits might otherwise be unavailable.”
Additional yoga sessions will be scheduled after the holidays. For more information, phone 574-6616.
The mission of the Department of Public Health and Wellness is to protect, preserve and promote the health, environment and well-being of the people of Louisville.
