For a third year, Councilwoman Madonna Flood (D-24) will join with the Seventh Division of Louisville Metro Police and the Okolona Fire Department for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4th at the Jefferson Mall.
“I look forward to once again joining police officers and firefighters when it comes to keeping our community safe,” says Flood. “I want to encourage everyone to come out and see us.”
The event gets underway in the Target Department Store parking lot in Jefferson Mall beginning at 6:30pm. Target is one of the sponsors of the event.
Information dealing with crime prevention, fire prevention and METH Awareness will be available. The public will also get a chance to talk with officers of LMPD to learn more about block watches and community resources in fighting crime.
“This is a chance to find who is the right person to call in the event of an emergency,” says Flood. “At the same time, you can say thank you to the men and women who protect us.”
National Night Out will also feature children’s activities including inflatables and bicycle obstacle course to teach safety. There will also be food and refreshments available.
