Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) will join students, teachers, parents and other community leaders for a special event on Friday, February 24th. Crums Lane Elementary will officially cut the ribbon on a first ever playground for the school.
“This playground will not only help keep the students physically active but it will also be a great asset for the children in the neighborhood,” says Scott.
District 1 funded $25,000 in collaboration with Zeon Chemicals for the playground. The school had never had an outdoor playground until now. It was completed last week. Zeon Chemical has also donated funds to assist the school’s iPad Lab.
“Zeon Chemicals is proud to give back to our community by investing in the Jefferson County Schools. We are delighted to see the new iPad Lab and the increased emphasis on technology at Crums lane elementary,” says Bill Simpson of Zeon Chemicals.
The ribbon cutting will take place at 2:00pm. Crums Lane Elementary is located at 1212 South Crums Lane.
Following the ribbon cutting, Councilwoman Scott will join members of the 123rd Kentucky Air National Guard and participate in “Jump Rope for the Heart” campaign at the school. It will begin at 2:30pm.
“It will be a great day for everyone.” says Scott. “It is always a great when we do something for the children of our community.”
