Louisville – Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton is inviting residents to attend the next District 5 Community Meeting set for Tuesday, May 14th 6:00pm. The Jefferson County Property Valuation Administrator, Tony Lindauer is the featured speaker.
“We have seen some recent decreases in property valuations in specific neighborhoods in district,” says Hamilton. “I think it is important that homeowners understand the PVA process and how to appeal a designation if merited.”
The Councilwoman has also invited Jim Mims and Robert Kirchdorfer of Codes and Regulations to discuss vacant and abandoned property. Both men can update the community on the problem, maintenance, and explain how complaints are handled and addressed.
Virginia Peck, Director of Community Services and Revitalization, will speak on revitalization strategies for the Portland and Shawnee Areas.
The District 5 Community Meeting will take place at the Shawnee Golf Course Clubhouse, 460 Northwestern Parkway. Hamilton has asked the following Department directors to be on hand: Public Works, Solid Waste, Metro Parks, Economic Growth and Innovation and LMPD.
The Network Center for Community Change (NC3) and other groups will be on hand to talk about upcoming summer programs and activities for young people in the district.
“This is a chance to come out and meet with representatives of Metro Government if you have an issue or concern,” says Hamilton. “It is also a chance to get an update on various programs and events that are going on in the district and community.”
