Metro Parks hosting open house meeting to plan for corridor refinement of Louisville Loop
Meeting to take place on Wednesday, June 22nd, at Riverside, The Farnsley-Moremen Landing

LOUISVILLE – Metro Parks and the Louisville Loop project team are hosting the third in a series of three public meetings at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011 at Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing, 7410 Moorman Landing, Louisville.

At this meeting, the consultant team will present three alternative alignments for the proposed route of the Louisville Loop from Watson Lane to Fairdale and provide details of where the Loop could be constructed along these alternative routes.  Details on what it would look like and what the prospective costs might be will also be discussed.

The public is welcome to review and comment on the three alternative routes. This information will be used to determine the preferred alignment for the Louisville Loop through this corridor.

The Louisville Loop, a key component of the City of Parks initiative to expand and improve Louisville's public parks, is a paved shared-use path encircling the city that will measure more than 100 miles when complete. It offers recreational and alternative transportation routes for cyclists, joggers and walkers. Sections of the Loop will also accommodate horseback riders.

According to officials, gaining public input is a critical step in analyzing the potential locations of the shared-use path. The Pond Creek Corridor Shared-Use Path and Ecological Restoration Plan study was introduced to the public at an open house in October 2010.
