Metro Council Members to Host Internet Safety Seminars

Louisville, KY – Metro Council members Stuart Benson (District 20), Kevin Kramer (District 11), Julie Raque Adams (District 18), Robin Engel (District 22) and James Peden (District 23) will host two seminars focused on safe usage of the internet. The first seminar will held on Wednesday October 25 at the Fern Creek Chamber of Commerce Conference Room (6104 Bardstown Road).

Each seminar will have two sessions. The first session will focus on safe internet practices when making online purchases. This session will start at 6:00 p.m. both days and will last approximately 50 minutes. Participants will be given 15 minutes for refreshments between sessions. The second session will focus on protecting your child from online predators. Detective Dan Jackman of the Louisville Metro Police Department’s Crimes against Children Unit will give participants information on protecting their child in the information age. The second session will start at approximately 7:10 p.m. and will last approximately 75 minutes.

Both the Safely Shopping Online and the Protecting your Child from Online Predators Sessions are for adults only.  Due to limited seating, persons interested in participating in one or both sessions are encouraged to RSVP the office of Councilman Stuart Benson at 574-1120 or staurt.benson@louisvilleky.gov.
