Frankfort Avenue is ready to welcome Spring with an event that has become a tradition for residents of District 9. The 19th annual Frankfort Avenue Easter parade is set for Saturday, April 23rd.
“This is a beautiful community event that is fun for all ages,” says Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9). “We want to invite everyone to wear their favorite Easter bonnet and come join the Easter parade.”
The Parade will get underway at 11:45am. It will begin at Kennedy Avenue and the parade route will end on Haldeman Avenue.
“This year’s Grand Marshall is someone special to the people of Crescent Hill because of his volunteer work,” says Ward-Pugh. “Gene Heustis won the most votes from a slate of five nominees and is being honored because of his tireless involvement in our community over the past 30 years.”
Among the highlights of the Easter Parade: the Shriners, Antique Cars, Homemade Family Floats, Hwang’s Martial Artists, the Black Cat Jazz Band, Talking Police Car, the Mounted Sheriff’s Patrol and much, much more.
“Of course, it wouldn’t be a parade without free candy for the kids of all ages,” says Ward-Pugh. “It’s just a great community event.”
