Louisville, KY – The City of St. Matthews’ Mayor Bernard Bowling and 7th District Councilman Ken Fleming will host the Grand Re-Opening of Warwick Park on May 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Officials will celebrate more than $250,000 in renovations that have been made in an innovative partnership that matched Metro funds with funds from the City of St. Matthews. The park was also aided by a contribution of $5,300 by 5/3 Bank in celebration of 5/3 Bank’s St. Matthews Financial Center which opened earlier this year.
Improvements to the park include resurfaced basketball courts and parking lots, new playground equipment, new picnic and pavilion areas, additional landscaping and adult sized swings. The entire community is invited to see the improvements and enjoy one of our great neighborhood parks.
The celebration will occur between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at Warwick Park (located between Washburn and Virginia Avenues within St. Matthews) with refreshments, raffles, baloons and musical entertainment being provided by the Rascals of Ragtyme Dixieland Band. All guests are encouraged to pack a lunch and come to Warwick Park for an afternoon of fun.
For more information on this event, please call Councilman Fleming’s office at 574-1107 or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
