Hamilton announces a community meeting on the Shawnee Revitalization Strategy Thursday, March 7th

Louisville – Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton (D-5) is encouraging residents of the Shawnee Neighborhood to attend a special community meeting on Thursday March 7th to share their vision for the Shawnee Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area Plan.
“We need to hear from everyone in the Shawnee area as we move forward developing the strategy plan that will be submitted to HUD,” says Hamilton. “This is the time to share any thoughts on how you would like to improve the area.”
The meeting will be hosted by Louisville Metro Community Services and Revitalization beginning at 5:30pm. It will take place in the meeting room at the Shawnee Golf Course, 460 Northwestern Parkway.
The Shawnee Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area (NRSA) Plan is currently under development and . It will propose the uses of $2 million in Community Development Block Grant funding to promote revitalization in the Shawnee Neighborhood over a five year period.
“We want to be sure everyone, whether youth, seniors or business owner, has a chance to suggest how these funds should be utilized because they are the future of the Shawnee Neighborhood,” says Hamilton.
