Councilman James hosts Third Annual “Saturday in the Park” in Central Park

Louisville – Councilman David James (D-6) is once again partnering with Kentucky Shakespeare to host an event which bring a wide variety of fun and festivities to one of the prettiest places in Old Louisville. The Third Annual “Saturday in the Park” will get underway in Central Park with Shakespeare, music, movies and fun for the whole family.

The best thing of all is it’s FREE!

“This weekend we offer the best of everything in the way of entertainment with the help of Kentucky Shakespeare,” says James. “The great thing about this event is the price, free and open to anyone who would like to enjoy a Saturday in Central Park.”

The event has a full day of scheduled activities, from magicians and puppeteers to inflatables and face painting; plus music from local bands; performances by Walden Theatre, YPAS and Kentucky Shakespeare

There was be a unique competition held in conjunction with the fun. The Limbwalkers will participate in the Annual Tree Climbing Championship sponsored by the Kentucky Arborist Association. Climbing demonstrations will be available for amateurs and kids.

Food Vendors will be on hand throughout the day.

· 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Squallis Puppeteers

· 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. Strolling Juggler/Fire-Eater/Tarot Readings with Regan Wann

· 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Tarot Readings with Regan Wann

· 3:45 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. Fire-Eater

· 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Greg and Abigail Maupin as Rannygazoo Ukelele Duet

· 11 a.m. - Noon Highland Chamber Players - classical ensemble

· Noon - 1 p.m. Bard Buddies by Kentucky Shakespeare (ages 3 - 9)

“This is a great way to spend a fall day in Old Louisville and enjoy a sampling of the arts,” says James. “The arts are an important part of the quality of in any city and this event gives just a sampling of what Metro Louisville has to offer.”
