Councilwoman Scott to moderate “Women Speak: What’s Up In West Louisville”

Louisville – Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) will moderate a special event this weekend that will bring together a diverse group of women to discuss their perspective on issues facing one area of the city. The Yearlings Club presents “Women Speak: What’s Up In West Louisville” on Sunday, November 4, 2012.

“I am looking forward to this community conversation as a way to hear unique perspectives on various issues in West Louisville,” says Scott. “A good group of women have been assembled to hold this dialogue.”

The panelists for the discussion include:

· Eleanor Jordan, Executive Director, Kentucky Commission on Women

· Colonel Yvette Gentry, Louisville Metro Police Department

· Dana Seay, Assistant Professor, UofL Department of Communications

· Reverend Deborah Johnson, Associate Minister, Ebenezer Baptist Church

· Kelsy Goff, Simmons University Student

The event will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The Yearlings Club is located at 4309 W Broadway. Light refreshments will be provided by the University of Louisville Arts & Sciences Office for International, Diversity and Outreach Programs.
