Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton (D-5) is sending financial assistance to those residents in the district who were affected by storm damage on Sunday, September 14th.
“This is a time when Metro Government needs to help those who may be dealing with getting their homes back to normal after a very long week,” says Hamilton.
As part of the Metro Council’s Emergency Storm Ordinance passed last Thursday, Hamilton is giving $7,000 to the Metro Housing Resource Center to help residents pay for tree and debris removal from their property in District 5. The assistance will be available through matching grants of up to $300 per household.
The money is coming from District 5 Neighborhood Development Funds.
Hamilton is also providing $1,000 to the Metro Community Action Partnership to provide funding to replenish food supplies that where handed out during the storm crisis.
“CAP went a long well in helping people manage under some very stressful times and that agency needs as much help as it can get,” says Hamilton. “The Metro Housing Resources Center will soon be helping people deal with another area that can be frustrating.”
Applicants should call Metro Housing Recourses Center at 778-6664 if more information is needed. The Center is located at 2810 Dumesnil, Louisville, Kentucky.
