Councilwoman Scott to tour Parkland Boys and Girls Club on Tuesday, November 15th

Friday November 11, 2011

For Immediate release:
Majority Caucus
Louisville Metro Council
Contact: Tony Hyatt 574-4137/536-3622

Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) will tour the closed Parkland Boys and Girls Club on Tuesday, November 15th to learn more about the club’s building and the future plans for the program.

“I and others on the Metro Council are working to find ways to get Parkland and the other Boys and Girls Club reopened,“ says Scott. “Too many children have used this facility in the past and there must be a better alternative than closing the doors.”

The Councilwoman wants to check out reports that the building has fallen into disrepair with a host of problems that include electrical and roofing needs. The Salvation Army closed four of the clubs last month because of budget constraints.

The Councilwoman will tour the facility at 12:00pm. The Parkland Boys and Girls Clubs is located at 3200 Greenwood Avenue.

For more information, contact Councilwoman Scott’s office at 574-1101.
