Louisville – The last of four community forums dealing with Kentucky’s Alcoholic Beverage Control laws will be held in Metro Louisville on Thursday November 8th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Mayor’s Gallery at Metro Hall.
The task force’s goal is to modernize and simplify the state’s alcoholic beverage laws. They will make recommendations to the Governor for legislative changes.
“It is important for the community to come to this meeting if you have had any concern about the alcohol and liquor licensing process in Louisville,” says Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton (D-5).
The Task Force is examining three specific areas:
· local option laws
· licensing simplification and modernizations
· public safety
“The task force does not plan to tackle issues such as expansion of sales or location of sales,” says Hamilton. “We want them to hear and consider proposed legislative changes from the public.”
Hamilton says it is important that the Task Force hear the concerns of this community prior to it submitting recommendations to the Governor on January 15th.
The public can speak in person, and or provide a written statement to the task force at the public forum.
Metro Hall is located at 527 West Jefferson Street.
