Louisville International Airport officials, including Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson, today dedicated “Altitude: A Traveler’s Club,” the airport’s new, upscale membership club.
“It is an opportunity for every person traveling through Louisville International Airport to have the same first-class experience that’s offered by airlines at their membership clubs at major hub airports,” said Louisville Regional Airport Authority Executive Director Skip Miller.
At today’s celebration, Board Chairman J.D. Nichols presented the first—and possibly only-- lifetime membership to “Altitude: A Traveler’s Club” to former Board Chairman J. Michael Brown, whose commitment to positioning Louisville International Airport as the airport of choice for regional air travelers inspired the creation of “Altitude”.
“This opening marks just one of the many terminal improvements that are planned as part of our continuing $41 million terminal renovation,” said Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson, who has served on the Authority’s Board for 15 years and was a driving force behind the expansion of the airport in the 1990s.
The name, “Altitude: A Traveler’s Club,” was proposed by Louisville Regional Airport Authority employee Tom Capshaw, who envisions the club as a place to relax—far above the hustle and bustle of a busy airport. The club is open daily from 4:30 am to 9:30 pm.
