Louisville – Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) and officers of the 2nd Division of Louisville Metro Police will go out on the streets for a public safety walk on Monday, November 11th in the area of a shooting on Broadleaf Drive.

“We want to alleviate resident fears after the recent shooting on Halloween night,” says Scott. “I have found these walks help build stronger relationships between the community and police. It’s a chance to let people know the police are here to help”

Scott and the officers will meet at the Highland Park Missionary Baptist Church, 3700 Shanks Lane, beginning at 5:00pm. They will be joined by members of the Richmont Neighborhood Association and then walk the area.

“These walks give officers a chance to share important information on creating safer neighborhoods from forming block watches to improving street lighting,” says Scott. “As we continue to work in partnership with Community Services and Revitalization to improve the existing housing stock and bring more mixed-income housing to the neighborhood, it is vital that folks know that this is a safe area.”

For more information about the public safety walk, contact Councilwoman Scott’s office at 574-1101.
