Louisville – A major effort is underway in Metro Louisville to develop more parks through out the county. On Tuesday, November 21, residents of District 12 will get a chance to learn more about effort to expand and develop Riverview Park.

“We have a jewel along the Ohio River,” says Councilman Rick Blackwell (D) 12. “This is a chance not only to see what is planned for Riverview but an opportunity for anyone to tell us what they would like to see for the Park.”

Riverview Park is the main focus of the November District 12 Dialogue. The key speaker is David Karem, Executive Director of the Louisville Waterfront Development Corporation. The group will be in charge of developing the park.

Riverview Park is located at the end of Greenwood Road in the area known to most as the Greenwood Boat Docks. It is part of an 87 acre development. The master plan will develop expansion of tennis courts and basketball courts as well as picnic areas.

“Everyone knows what a great place Waterfront Park has become downtown,” says Blackwell. “We are hoping for the same thing on our end of the Ohio. So I encourage everyone to come to this meeting.”

The District 12 Dialogue will be held at Greenwood Elementary, 5801 Greenwood Road, off Dixie Highway. The meeting begins at 7:00pm.

Also on hand will be representatives of Metro Police as well as other Metro Agencies to answer questions or concerns in the area.
