Welch, Henderson and Yates thank clean up volunteers from Nazarene Youth Conference

Several areas of Metro Louisville will get some cleanup attention on Wednesday, July 6th from about 1000 young people from all over the country. The Nazarene Youth Conferences is in Louisville and will perform a day of service that includes areas of District 13, 14, and 25.
“I want to thank these young people for the example they are setting for others.” says Councilwoman Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13). “To spend some of your summer vacation by helping others is just inspiring.”
A group of 40 young people from the Conference will focus cleanup attention along the National Turnpike Corridor from Southside drive to the Gene Snyder Freeway. They will work from 9:30am until 3:00pm with a break for lunch provided by White Castle.
Then another group of 40 with be on hand for cleanup work under the direction of the Auburndale neighborhood Association.
“We appreciate the effort being made by the Youth Conference,” says Councilman David Yates (D-25). “These young people will get the chance to work with others who care and take pride in their community.”
Another group of about 40 youth volunteers will be cleaning trash alongside the Greenbelt Highway beginning at 8:30am.
“We are always thankful when someone does something to help keep our community clean,” says Councilman Bob Henderson (D-14). “These young people have our thanks for their willingness to help us.”
The Nazarene Youth Conference will also be helping out in District 9 and District 12 along with the West End and Old Louisville areas of town. The conference is coordinating its efforts with Brightside.
