Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge (D) 3 will join Wendy’s and the Community Builders, Inc. of Louisville for a special night out on the town to help promote families and health life styles.
“I want to applaud all of the sponsors of this 5th Annual National Family Day Celebration,” says Woolridge. “It is an event that brings families and friends together.”
Wendy’s on Cane Run Road at Algonquin Parkway will host the event from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, September 24th. The first 700 children accompanied by an adult will get a free Kid’s Meal.
The Celebration will offer entertainment for children and adults as well as health screenings and activities for the entire family.
Family Day was created as a national effort by the Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse to promote getting parents involved with their children’s health. The idea is to reduce substance abuse among children and teenagers with the goal of raising health families.
“I commend the effort to not only promote drug-free living but to focus on parents and children working toward better health,” says Woolridge. “A special thank you goes out to Wendy’s for being a good community citizen.”
Other sponsors of the Celebration include; the Community Builders, Inc. Radio One B96.5 FM, Exclusively For You, the Louisville Bats, the Louisville Free Public Library and Passport of Ky.
