Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) will join other volunteers on Thursday, January 12th to help the Shively Meals on Wheels program reach Senior Citizens in her district.
“Everyone should volunteer to help out if they can and I want to make sure that our homebound seniors have a chance to talk with their Council person just like everyone else,” says Scott. “Many of our seniors are not able to get out to a community meeting or come down to City Hall if they have a concern.”
Scott will begin volunteering at 11:00am at the Shively Meals on Wheels Center located at the old St. Basil Church, 3901 Wayside Dr.
She will be volunteering at least once a month to serve some of her constituents.
“It is important to let our older folks know that they have not been forgotten and Meals on Wheels is a good program that needs our support,” says Scott.
