Louisville – As the holiday season continues, yet another area of Metro Louisville will bring in the holiday season with the help of Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin (D) 2.

On Saturday, December 2nd the switch will be thrown at Petersburg Park to “Light Up, Newburg.” The event will begin at 6:00pm.

“This is a fun event for the whole family and we want all areas of the city to get into the holiday spirit and Newburg is a very important part of Louisville,” says Shanklin.

The Newburg Salvation Army Boys and girls Club will be on hand to help decorate areas of Petersburg Park located on Indian Trail and Newburg Road.

Dr. Shanklin’s office is hosting the event. The Ministerial Association of Newburg is also a co-sponsor.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be on hand Saturday to pose for pictures with the kids and help lead holiday cheer.

Holiday refreshments will also be provided for those who want to come out and sing and enjoy the sights.
