Second Sunday Health Initative is Coming to Louisville

Louisville, Ky:  The Second Sunday Health Initiative is coming to Louisville on Sunday, October 11, 2009. This initiative celebrates the Commonwealth of Kentucky‚Äôs Physical Activity Day through various family based games, activities, entertainment along with educational booths and healthy foods in hopes of helping adults and youth make a commitment to healthy lifestyle changes.

Second Sunday festivities are schedules to take place at Champions Trace off of Newburg Road and Bashford Manor Lane near Bashford Manor Mall between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.  The Second Sunday is an event supported by Louisville Metro Government through the support of the following members of the Metro Council: District 22 Councilman Robin Engel (Jefferson County Event Chair), District 1 Councilwoman Judy Green, District 8 Councilman Tom Owen, District 9 Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh, District 10 Councilman Jim King, District 11 Councilman Kevin Kramer, District 12 Councilman Rick Blackwell, District 13 Councilwoman Vicki Welch, District 15 Councilwoman Marianne Butler, District 16 Councilman Kelly Downard, District 17 Councilman Glen Stuckel, District 20 Councilman Stuart Benson, District 21 Councilman Dan Johnson and District 25 Councilman Doug Hawkins. This program is supported statewide through the UK Cooperative Extension Service.
