Twelfth District Councilman Rick Blackwell and 14th District Councilman Bob Henderson will hold a community meeting to discuss the state's expansion plans for Greenwood Road. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27 in the cafeteria of Greenwood Elementary, 4801 Greenwood Road.
The plan calls for expanding the road to five lanes from Greenbelt Highway to Dixie Highway.
Gregory Groves of the Kentucky Department of Transportation, District 5, will be on hand to explain the project and provide an update on its timeline.
"There has been a lot of confusion surrounding this project, and constituents have heard many different versions of the plan," Blackwell said. "We want to get the information directly from the source. I encourage all of the residents from the surrounding area to attend."
Groves and the two councilmen will be available after the presentation to answer questions about projects or concerns other than the Greenwood Road project.
In addition, representatives from MSD and Louisville Metro Police will be available to address specific concerns about their work.
