The Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness will hold two series of classes for individuals interested in learning about and managing diabetes.
The first series of four classes begins Thursday, September 8 at the Kingdom Christian Church, 2400 Hermitage Way. All classes in this series begin at 5:00 p.m. and end at 7:00 p.m. The class schedule is as follows:
September 8, Class 1, Overview of Diabetes, Types of Diabetes, High and Low Blood Sugar, Sick Days
September 15, Class 2, Diet and Exercise
September 22, Class 3, Diabetes Pills and Insulin, Preventing Complications Part 1
September 29, Class 4, Preventing Complications Part 2, Foot and Skin Care, Glucose Monitoring, Standards of Care.
The second series of two classes begins Saturday, September 17 at the Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness at 400 E. Gray St. Both classes begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at
3:00 p.m. A healthy lunch will be provided at no charge to participants of this class series. The class schedule is as follows:
September 17, Class 1, Overview of Diabetes, Types of Diabetes, High and Low Blood Sugar, Sick Days, Diet and Exercise.
September 24, Class 2, Diabetes Pills and Insulin, Preventing Complications, Foot and Skin Care, Glucose Monitoring, Standards of Care.
