It is not uncommon to see groups of people walking up and down Frankfort Avenue at any time of the year. But a special group will be on a mission this coming Saturday.

“I am asking residents to join me as we take a survey that could help determine how to keep Frankfort Avenue clean and at the same time provide some new places to rest if you are out enjoying a walk,” says Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D) 9.

The Frankfort Avenue Streetscape Survey will begin on Saturday, February 9th at 9:00am. Its purpose is to look over areas where new trash cans or benches can be placed along this historic neighborhood street.

“It’s easy to place a trash can anywhere on a city sidewalk but the real question is will it be used once it is placed there,” says Ward-Pugh. “The best way to answer that question is to talk with people who live and work on Frankfort Avenue.”

Those who would like to participate should gather for Coffee at the Clifton Center, 2117 Payne Street at 8:30am. Coffee will be served and instructions for the survey will be explained. It is recommended that everyone dress warmly and have comfortable walking shoes.

For more information about the Frankfort Avenue Streetscape Survey, call Councilwoman Ward-Pugh’s office at 574-1109.
