Flu Shots Now Offered Every Weekday at Gray Street Site

The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness is now offering flu shots at its 400 E. Gray Street site from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on weekdays until December 14 (except Thanksgiving Day, November 22 and Friday November 23). Flu shots are available to anyone 6 months of age or older who wants to avoid getting the flu this winter. No appointments are necessary. 
        
Flu shots are $25. Medicare Part B and Passport will cover the cost for those with those insurance plans. The Public Health and Wellness Department never turns anyone away because of inability to pay.
Flu shots will also be offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with no appointments necessary at various sites that will rotate throughout the community. Below is a schedule:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) especially recommends that the following people who are at high-risk for complications from the flu get a shot.

  • People age 50 and older
  • Children age 6 – 59 months (6 months to 5 years old). 
  • Household members and caretakers of infants younger than 6 months of age
  • Pregnant women
  • People with chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and asthma
  • People with weakened immune systems
  • Children 6 months to 18 years of age on long-term aspirin therapy
  • Residents of long-term--care facilities
  • Health-care personnel who provide direct patient care
