Councilwoman Welch joins in on a night of fun for the Blue Apple Players on Feb. 7th

Councilwoman Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13) will join a host of other local celebrities and community leaders before the lights of the Broadway stage to raise money for a good cause: the Blue Apple Players.
"I am so thrilled to be a part of the fundraising efforts of this fabulous arts troupe who have serviced our community for so many years" says Welch.
On Saturday night, February 7th, the Sixth Annual Louisville Salutes Blue Apple on Broadway will get underway at the Brown Theater. The event is a major fundraiser for the group which was founded in 1976. The troupe makes countless performance around Metro Louisville and the state presenting various plays and arts education.
This year's production of "Abe the Boy" was presented to 5 of the District 13 schools to enhance their knowledge of our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. This effort was sponsored by Councilwoman Welch by using the District 13 Neighborhood Funds
Councilwoman Welch will be featured in one production singing “The Greatest Elf” along with Carolyn Gaeta McLean, Tommy Gift and others.
Among the other “celebs” David Jones Jr. Congressman John Yarmuth, Jim Bulleit, Chris Poynter, Carla Sue Broecker and many more.
"I encourage the community to come out for some laughs and great entertainment while funding a most important part of our arts education for our school children, " says Welch.
Louisville Salutes Blue Apple on Broadway begins with a reception at 7:00pm. The Lights of Broadway come on at 8:00pm. Then at 9:30pm there will be coffee and dessert with the cast.
