Councilwoman Madonna Flood (D-24) will be on hand with the Seventh Division of Louisville Metro Police and the Okolona Fire Department for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 3rd at the Jefferson Mall.
This is the fourth year for the event which stresses crime prevention and safety for you and your family.
“It is easy to forget about crime prevention if you are fortunate not to become a victim,” says Flood. “I hope you never have to deal with such a situation. In order to insure it does not happen, then come out and learn what LMPD and Okolona Fire can do for you. I invite the community to come out and learn firsthand what crime and fire prevention tools they can use to protect their property and themselves.”
The National Night Out in District 24 gets underway in the Target Department Store parking lot in Jefferson Mall beginning at 6:30pm. Target is one of the sponsors of the event.
Crime prevention, fire prevention and METH Awareness information will be available. There is also the opportunity to talk with officers of LMPD to learn more about block watches and community resources in fighting crime.
“If you have a question about any program offered by LMPD or the Okolona Fire Department this is a chance to ask,” says Flood. “It also a chance to meet some of the dedicated people whose job it is to keep us safe.”
National Night Out will also feature children’s activities including inflatables and a bicycle obstacle course to teach safety. There will also be food and refreshments available.
