Tandy sponsors Back to School Jam at Meyzeek Middle School On Saturday

Councilman David Tandy (D) 4 will partner with Smoketown and Shelby Park neighborhood groups to host the 8th Annual Back to School Jam on Saturday, July 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m at Meyzeek Middle School, 828 S. Jackson Street.

“This is a chance to get a head start on a new school year,” says Tandy. “It's important for parents and others in community to do all that we can to support our students and help prepare them to succeed on the first day of school and beyond.”

The Back to School Jam will be a day of games, entertainment and food for youth and families. School supplies and Jefferson County Public School and Family Resource information will be available.

Activities include:

School supply distribution

Free lunch

Family Fitness Festival Activities

Door prizes

Farmer’s Market (EBT cards welcome)

Information tables from local agencies

Live entertainment - DJ music

Immunizations and school physicals will also be available during the Jam. Parents must bring their child’s immunizations certificate in order to receive any immunizations for the upcoming school year. All immunizations and physicals are being generously provided by the Harambee Nursing Center.
