Metro Council Members Urge Expedited Construction of the Ohio River Bridges Project

Louisville, KY – Chairman of the Transportation and Public Works Committee, Robin Engel (District 22) and Vice Chair, Cheri Bryant Hamilton (District 5), will hold a press conference on Tuesday, September 20 at 10:30 a.m. in Jefferson Square (corner of 6th and Jefferson) to discuss the need for an expedited construction schedule for the Ohio River Bridges Project. Councilmembers will be joined by former Jefferson County Judge/Executive Rebecca Jackson, Humana Founder David Jones and David Nicklies as they call on other elected officials and community leaders to push the Bridges Project forward. Councilmembers Engel and Hamilton plan to introduce a bi-partisan resolution to encourage federal, state and local officials to become more involved with the Ohio River Bridges Project and call on River Fields to cease all legal actions causing delays to the project.
