Porter Scholars to help cleanup Algonquin Park in District 3

One hundred students from the Porter Scholars program of the University of Louisville have a special a cleanup mission this week in Algonquin Park.
“Algonquin Park is a District 3 treasure,” says Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge (D-3) “Citizens from all around the city enjoy the tennis court, splash pool, walking path and its natural beauty.”
Mike H. Slaton, Volunteer Coordinator at Louisville Metro Parks has enlisted a group of up to 100 Porter Scholars from U of L on for the cleanup on Tuesday, November 3.
Councilwoman Woolridge will be on hand along with the Olive Street Block Watch. All citizens from the area are invited to join in the cleanup which will begin at 3:00 p.m.
“I want to thank these scholars for their volunteer spirit in District 3,” says Woolridge. “Our community appreciates their efforts.”
Algonquin Park is located at 1614 Cypress Street.
