Public Health and Wellness Department to Offer Weight Control Series

LOUISVILLE, KY (October 16, 2007) – Individuals interested in learning successful weight loss strategies, how to do smart grocery shopping, how to cook healthier foods, as well as how to overcome the common pitfalls of losing weight can take advantage of a free series of classes being offered by the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness.
The classes will be held on consecutive Thursdays on October 25, November 1, November 8, and November 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at United Crescent Hill Ministries located at 150 South State Street.
“This series of free classes can be very helpful to people who want to improve their health and lose weight,” said Margaret Heyn, a registered dietician with the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness. “These weight control strategies have been proven to be successful.”
The class is free of charge and conducted by a registered dietitian. Participants will receive a body fat analysis as well as an individually calculated meal plan. Participants must register in advance by calling 574-6663.
