Louisville Metro Animal Services Adjusts Operating Hours

New Schedule effective May 20, 2012

Louisville Metro Animal Services (LMAS) is adjusting operating hours to better serve the citizens’ and animals’ needs. Starting May 20, 2012, the following schedule will take effect:

Manslick Shelter: 3705 Manslick Road 502-361-1318
Monday thru Friday noon-6:00 p.m.

Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Closed Sundays and holidays

What can you do here?
Licensing, Fees & Clerical Processing, animal surrenders and intake, lost ID/redemptions



Animal Control Officers (Field Services & Enforcement)

*Routine calls for service (including stray complaints, barking etc.):

7 days a week 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

*Emergency situations (sick or injured animal calls, bite incidents or police assisted emergencies):

7 days a week 24 hours a day



Animal House Adoption Center: 3516 Newburg Road 502-473-PETS (7387)

No changes

Tuesday – Sunday noon – 6:00 p.m. Wednesday until 7:00 p.m. Closed Monday

“We did a great deal of research in regards to the best way to maximize our staffing level while meeting the needs of the community,” said Director of Metro Animal Services Justin Scally. “Cities in our region follow similar schedules to our newly implemented one.”
