Councilman Bright to announce job programs

Councilman Willie Bright will join local companies, agencies and unions at a press conference Monday, June 14 to announce available job readiness programs, summer and permanent job placement, and apprenticeship opportunities in the Louisville Metro area. The announcement will take place at 11 a.m. Monday in the Mayor's Gallery, fourth floor of Metro Hall.
Councilman Bright will be joined by representatives of Louisville Community Initiative; LaidLaw Transit Services, Inc.; Project One; Carpenters Union Local 64; Office of Youth Development; and Louisville Youth Opportunity Network to talk about what opportunities they have available.
"My office has received numerous calls from constituents in search of work and skill training opportunities," said Councilman Bright, D-4. "As their representative, it is my duty and a privilege to meet that call for help. Economic stability builds self-worth and stimulates positive neighborhood and community changes."
Councilman Bright said the opportunities would be for both youth and adults.
