Johnson and Butler to lead Majority Caucus in 2009

The Majority Caucus of the Louisville Metro Council has elected Dan Johnson (D-21) as Majority Leader and Marianne Butler (D-15) Vice Chair for 2009.
“I am looking forward to working with the members of this Caucus as we face some tough challenges ahead,” said Johnson. “I plan on working with each member of the Caucus so that in 2009 we can better serve the people of Metro Louisville.”
Johnson was elected the Metro Council in 2002. He is one of the founding members of the Metro Council and was member of the Louisville Board of Aldermen prior to the creation of the merged government.
“I am grateful for the trust and confidence that members of the Caucus have placed in me for this position,” said Butler. “I look forward to working with the Majority Leader and the Caucus to move the city forward.”
Butler was elected in to the Council in November of 2006.
Johnson and Butler are following out going Majority Leader Rick Blackwell (D-12) and Vice Chair Judith Green (D-1) who served in 2008.
