Flood to welcome Santa and District 24 to “Light Up Okolona”

A holiday tradition returns to Metro Louisville when Councilwoman Madonna Flood and Okolona Business and Professional Association President Greg Scheller greet Santa Claus for the start of the Holiday Season at Light Up Okolona on November 19th.
“We always have a wonderful time bringing the holiday season, when Lone Oak Park becomes the most special place in Metro Louisville with Light Up Okolona,” says Flood.
The Festivities will get started at 5:45pm with the Southern High School Concert Band setting the mood with everyone’s favorite holiday music. Additional Entertainment will be provided by the dancers from Stepping Out Dance Studio while children from Okolona Elementary perform selection to keep your bodies and spirits warm.
The most anticipated guest the Jolly Old Elf will arrive in a “Fire Sled” from the North Pole around 6:30p.m.
“Please join us as we celebrate with our Okolona Neighbors and businesses,” says Flood. “I want to extend an invitation to everyone in our area to come out and welcome the holidays with us.”
Louisville Metro Police Department, District 7, Okolona Fire Department, White Castle, Golden Corral and Okolona Park Neighborhood Association are participating in the festivities. Lone Oak Park is located at the corner of Preston Highway and the Outer Loop.
