It began as a way for people to get together and just enjoy good food, conversation and music. Some 700 residents are expected to carry on that tradition in one of Louisville most established communities.
“Unity Day at Dosker Manor is one way of showing all of us that communities are built around the fundamental principle of neighbors caring for each other regardless of race, creed or color,” says Councilman David Tandy (D) 4. “I am proud to have Dosker Manor in the Fourth District and to again sponsor Unity Day.”
Unity Day will get underway on Thursday, August 23rd from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. Dosker Manor is located at 413 East Muhammad Ali Blvd.
There will be a cook out of barbeque chicken and ribs with “all of the fixin’s”. Tents will be set up with tables and chairs for an old fashion cook out. Meals will be delivered to homebound residents.
Music and entertainment along with door prizes will also be part of the celebration.
Councilman Tandy is covering the cost of the event.
“I can think of no better way to thank the residents of Dosker Manor for their efforts in Unity Day than to say thank you with this cook out,” says Tandy.
