It is a simple concept; if Metro Louisville can provide the summer jobs, Project One will find the young people to fill them.
“With schools out, there are many young people willing to work,” says Councilwoman Judith Green (D) 1. “Since1985, Project One has been giving our young people an opportunity to show they can be a strong part of any workforce if they are given the opportunity.”
On Friday, April 18th, Project One will host its 23rd Annual Summer Jobs Kick-Off Breakfast at the Project One/Martin Academy in the Lyles Mall, 2600 West Broadway. The Breakfast is from 7:30am to 9:30am. The cost to attend is $50. It includes breakfast and proceeds will help fund placement for youth in jobs with non-profit agencies this summer.
“This breakfast is an excellent way for our local businesses to learn more about Project One,” says Green. “Sometimes, something as simple as having a job can make a difference in a young person’s life. It could mean the difference between staying in or dropping out of school as well as help a teenager understand what it means to be a responsible citizen.”
The Councilwoman will join Congressman John Yarmuth as one of the speakers for the kick off breakfast.
